May 1975 DOMS-IATRON Co., Ltd. (currently Kainos) was established with a capital stock of 30,000,000 yen as a developer of new products in the health care industry.  
  Jul. 1975 Changed its name to Kainos Laboratories, Inc.  
  Sep. 1975 Released the world's first enzyme-based serum transaminase measurement reagent kit, phospholipid measurement reagent kit, and cholinesterase (ChE) measurement reagent kit.

Formed a technical tie-up with Mitsui Pharmaceutical Industry Co. (Currently Nihon Schering K. K.) on enzyme immunoassay method (EIA).

 
  Dec. 1977 Released the world's first alpha (α) -fetoprotein (AFP) measurement reagent kit based on EIA.  
  Aug. 1978 Founded the Ito Research Institute, and began full-scale R&D on biochemical and immunological serum-based reagents.  
  Apr. 1981 Entered into a technical tie-up agreement with Hitachi Chemical Co., Ltd. on reagents for clinical analysis equipment.  
  Apr. 1983 Released an enzyme-based creatinine measurement reagent kit.  
  Jun. 1987 Entered into a technical tie-up agreement with Nippon Kayaku Co., Ltd. on clinical examination reagents.  
  Oct. 1989 Released a diagnostic reagent kit "MAST" for simulations multi-item diagnosis of allergies to meet the recent increases in allergy related disease.  
  Nov. 1991 Released "Lana 1,5 AG", a high-sensitivity diabetes diagnosis kit.  
  Sep. 1992 Entered into a technical tie-up agreement with Kirin Beer Co., Ltd. (Kirin Pharma Company, Limited) on clinical examination reagents.  
  Aug. 1993 Moved production to Kasama Factory, and began production of biochemical and immunoserological reagents.  
  Oct. 1993 Entered into a technical tie-up agreement with Asahi Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (Currently Asahi Kasei Pharma Corporation) on clinical examination reagents.  
  Mar. 1994 Entered into an exclusive sales agreement with Mitsui Pharmaceutical Industry Co. (Currently Nihon Schering K. K.) on the fully automated EIA measurement device "Quartus".  
  Apr. 1994 Released the creatinine measurement reagent as one of the unadjusted liquid reagent (Aqua-Auto) family.  
  Oct. 1995 Moved the Head Office to Hongo, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo.  
  Dec. 1995 Registered its stocks with the Japan Security Business Association for over-the-counter exchange.
Took over the production of reagents for Quartus from Mitsui Pharmaceutical Industry Co. (Currently Nihon Schering K. K)
 
  Feb. 1996 Founded the Kasama Laboratories.  
  May 1999 Released the bile acid measurement reagent as one of the unadjusted liquid reagent (Aqua-Auto) family.  
  Jan. 2000 Entered into a manufacture agreement with Mochida Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. on four items on reagents.  
  May 2000 Entered into a business transfer agreement with TOYOBO Co., Ltd. on the operation of patent about diagnostic reagents and instruments for DNA, based on the genetic amplification technique of NASBA method and the Hybrigene nucleic acid technique of measurement.  
  Jun. 2000 Released "Quartus ImmunoCube", the successor to "Quartus" a fully automated EIA measurement device.
Kainos acquired the International Standardization Organization Code 9001 (ISO. 9001).
 
  Aug. 2000 Entered into the licence agreement of NASBA Patents with Organon Teknika B. V.
(Ownership of the "NASBA Gene Amplification" patent has been transferred from Organon Teknika B.V. to bioMerieux.
 
  Jan. 2001 Entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with IVAX on its fully automatic ELISA system "MAGO Plus", marketing of which began in May, 2002  
  Oct. 2003 Entered into a license agreement with Kirin Brewery Co. Ltd. (Kirin Phama Company, Limited) To market "FGF-23 Titration Reagent".  
  Dec. 2003 Contracted with Sanko Junyaku Co. Ltd. To succeed Japanese distributorship of immucor blood banking reagents.  
  Apr. 2004 Established Quality Assurance Center.  
  May 2004 Entered into a distributorship agreement for genetic products with bioMerieux Japan.  
  Nov. 2004 Launched marketing of an influenza detection reagent "StatmarkTMInfluenza A/B" that had been jointly developed by Nichirei Corporation (Nichirei Bioscience) and Kainos.  
  Jun. 2005 Signed a distribution agreement with Towa Pharmaceutical, Co. Ltd. to market Kainos' POCT products.  
  Jul. 2005 Created Kainos BB, Co. Ltd. by spinning out Kainos' Blood Banking business (in June 2005) then changed the name of the spun out company to Immucor-Kainos, Inc. through a joint venture agreement established as a part of the ongoing collaborative effort between Immucor, Inc. and Kainos.  
  Mar. 2006 Expansion of the Kasama Factory has been completed with the construction of a new distribution center.  
  May 2006 The Certification Body of TUV SUD Product Service GmbH certified Kainos Laboratories, Inc. ISO13485.  
  Oct. 2006 Released "ADAMTS13 Activity ELISA Kit".
P3 Laboratory is completed in Kasama office.
 
  Jan. 2007 Released "Swiftgene Norovirus GI/GII".
